Jacob & Co. commences new movement in Astronomia Régulateur
Several years ago, Jacob & Co launched the Astronomia Tourbillon watch. This model includes unique domed sapphire crystal dial display that highlights an architectural movement using an otherworldly planetary system. Subsequently, the Astronomia series finds its roots through many iterations, with themes like skulls, casino games, Typically the Godfather and more. Now, for the 10th anniversary of this outdoors collection, the watchmaker’s complex prowess is on whole display in the new activity in the Astronomia Régulateur.
The regulator is just about the most classic complications with watchmaking, featuring the present of hours, minutes in addition to seconds in three several positions on the dial. As being the name suggests, regulators are known for their accuracy and are as used by other watchmakers to " standardize" their work. The modern addition to the Astronomia array, the brand revolutionizes the regulator in a Jacob & Co way.
The hub of the Astronomia Régulateur, Jacob & Co. introduces a new movement: the JCAM56. That exceptional movement is the reaction many years of work by the model in the field of rotating vertical tourbillon movements. We see this product in the Astronomia collection, and it is movement is constructed being a carousel, with multiple geostationary satellites rotating around a central axis and rotating on their own responsable, with each arm taking a complication. The sequence speed of this central axis is initially set to 30 minutes. Then, in 2023, Jacob & Co. unveiled the Astronomia Revolution, quickening its rotation to just 1 minute and launching the mobility into a wild horological flow.
Now, the fresh JCAM56 movement is based on the particular Astronomia Revolution’s JCAM48B technological know-how and offers the same impressive 60-second rotation. There are three abs here: one is the soaring tourbillon, which itself would make one revolution per minute, along with the other two arms widely-used to tell the time. If these kind of dials were permanently fitted to measure time, generally they would be unreadable, even so the Astronomia Régulateur uses a differential system to vertically straighten up these dials for less complicated reading. Below, the moments hand is indicated by just a long gold hand leading towards a large domed pink transparent ring with a just a few seconds scale.
Often the JCAM56 caliber is exhibited in all its glory with the collection’s signature case design, along with a large sapphire disc associated with the case ring. As if this wasn’t impressive enough, typically the JCAM56 movement is also often the thinnest Astronomia-type movement Jacob & Co. has ever previously produced.
